New Delhi: Following several complaints regarding the defect in some units of iPhone X and its display, US-based tech giant Apple Inc has finally confirmed the same on Friday comes after the iPhone X was discontinued from the market in September post the launch of iPhone XS and XR. The iconic iPhone maker said it had found some issues affecting some of its iPhone X and 13-inch MacBook Pro products and said the company would fix them free of charge. According to a report by news agency Reuters, displays on iPhone X, which came out in 2017 with a starting price of $999, may experience some touch issues due to a component failure, adding it would replace those parts for free. According to the report, Apple said that in some cases the screen of iPhone X units does not respond to touch or responds intermittently when touched. The company has asked the users who have been facing this issue to take their faulty unit to an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Providers to get a screen replacement free of cost. The repair offer initiated by Apple is the latest in the spring of product quality issues over past some time even though the iPhone maker has hiked the cost of most of its devices including tablets, laptops and phones. Apple has announced a repair program for all the defective devices with 128GB and 256GB of solid-state drives. Apple also said that it would send an email to all its customers who have registered their devices to inform them about the program. In a similar crisis last year, Apple began a battery replacement program on a massive scale after the tech giant conceded that a software update intended to help some iPhone models deal with ageing batteries slowed down the performance of the devices.
