Ensure Safe Repatriation Of Indian Nationals Stuck In Sudan: Kerala CM Writes To PM Modi
Since April 15, 2023, there is an ongoing armed conflict between two factions of Sundanese military government which has claimed over 300 lives.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday requesting to make sure the safety of Indian nationals in Sudan and their safe repatriation.
According to ANI, "Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan writes to PM Narendra Modi requesting to ensure the safety and safe repatriation of Indian nationals stuck in Sudan."

In the letter, Pinarayi said, " A good number of Keralites are currently employed in Sudan, mostly as health professionals and as other skilled workers. Government of Kerala has received petitions and calls stating that a number of our people are not able to get access to basic amenities such as drinking water, electricity, food, and medicines since the outbreak of the conflict.”
“As the Khartoum airport is heavily damaged in the air strikes, we are being informed that repatriation via the capital city does not appear to be an available option, he said.
The CM said: “We have also been informed that several Keralites are stuck in remote areas of Sudan and need to be repatriated. In this context, I would like to bring to the kind attention of Prime Minister the above requests received by us.”
As a result, Kerala CM requested intervention and guidance from the persons concerned to make sure the safety of Indian nationals in Sudan and their safe repatriation at the earliest.
Since April 15, 2023, there is an ongoing armed conflict between two factions of Sundanese military government. As a result, there are reports of airstrikes, artillery and heavy gunfire across the country. Over 300 people have been killed and 3,200 people have been injuried in the clashes.
