PM Narendra Modi To Inaugurate Delhi-Vadodara Expressway In Madhya Pradesh Today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh on Monday where he will unveil a series of significant projects, as per an official statement from the Prime Minister's Office. The highlight of this visit is the inauguration of the ambitious Delhi-Vadodara Expressway, a monumental infrastructure project developed at an estimated cost of £1.3 billion (Rs 11,895 crore). This expressway is poised to facilitate seamless connectivity and enhance transportation efficiency between Delhi and Vadodara.
In addition to the expressway inauguration, Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for five distinct road projects, collectively valued at over £207 million (Rs 1,880 crore). These road developments are aimed at further enhancing the state's infrastructure and connectivity.
A significant component of the visit involves the 'grih pravesh' ceremony for over 220,000 homes constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G). Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U), with a combined worth of approximately Rs 140 crore.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for Jal Jeevan Mission projects, totalling more than Rs 1,530 crore. These projects are set to benefit over 720 villages in the Gwalior and Sheopur districts, thus contributing significantly to the region's water resources.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to initiate the foundation stone laying ceremony for nine health centres under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. Additionally, he will inaugurate and launch several other developmental projects during his visit to Gwalior.
Prime Minister Modi is expected to arrive at around 4 p.m. and will depart from Gwalior before 6:30 p.m., MP Bharatiya Janata Party chief VD Sharma told news agency PTI. This visit marks his fourth in less than two months and his eighth visit to Madhya Pradesh in the last seven months, with Assembly polls anticipated at the year's end.
Congress to Organise 'Bharosa Yatras' Across Chhattisgarh
Meanwhile, in the neighbouring state of Chhattisgarh, the ruling Congress party is gearing up to stage 'Bharosa Yatras' (trust marches) across all 90 assembly constituencies of the state today. The objective of these day-long marches is to apprise the public about the government's welfare schemes.
The Chhattisgarh Congress unit's communication wing head, Sushil Anand Shukla, stated that during these marches, which coincide with Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, their party will also engage with the public to highlight their claims that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had deceived the state's citizens during its 15-year rule (2003-2018), PTI reported.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, members of his cabinet, Congress MLAs, and MPs will actively participate in the marches within their respective constituencies. These yatras will traverse a distance of 25-30 kilometres in each constituency, featuring 'nukkad sabhas' (street corner meetings) and public gatherings along the way.
Shukla further emphasised that concerted efforts would be made to cover as many villages and panchayats as possible during these marches, ensuring comprehensive outreach to the people of Chhattisgarh,as per PTI.
