Cash-For-Query Case: Mahua Moitra To Appear Before Ethics Panel Today
TMC MP Mahua Moitra shared a copy of her letter to the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee on Wednesday, ahead of her appearance before the panel investigating the cash-for-query allegations levelled against her.
Moitra will appear before the panel on November 2 after BJP MP Nishikant Dubey wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleging she took bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to target the Adani Group.
Moitra stated on X, "Since the Ethics Committee deemed it fit to release my summons to the media, I believe it is important that I also release my letter to the Committee before my "hearing" tomorrow".
Moitra stated in the letter that she will appear before the panel on November 2 and will "demolish" the cash-for-query complaint filed against her.
In the letter, she stated that parliamentary committees do not have criminal jurisdiction and emphasised the importance of involving law enforcement in such cases.
Rahul Gandhi To Visit Telangana's Kaleswaram Irrigation Project Today:
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would visit the Kaleswaram project in Telangana on Thursday and inspect the damage at the Medigadda barrage of the project recently, news agency PTI report.
According to Congress sources, permission was granted for his helicopter to land at the Medigadda barrage's helipad, according to the report. During his ongoing election campaign in Telangana, Gandhi accused the Kaleswaram project of corruption.

Former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang To Be Cremated On Nov 2:
News agency PTI reported that an official announcement on Tuesday said that former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's cremation would take place here on Thursday, just days after the acclaimed reform-minded economist died unexpectedly.
Li, 68, died of a heart attack on October 27 in Shanghai, just months after stepping down as a challenger to Chinese President Xi Jinping a decade ago.
According to state media, he was in Shanghai for rest after retiring from active politics in March of this year.
"The remains of Comrade Li Keqiang will be cremated in Beijing on Thursday," according to the official Xinhua news agency.
