Bihar: Tourism Minister’s Son Opens Fire To Chase Away Kids, Hits Man With Gunstock

Minister Narayan Prasad said that the allegations raised against his son were baseless and that it was a political conspiracy meant to defame him and his son.

New Delhi: Bihar Tourism Minister Narayan Prasad’s son, Bablu, enraged the residents of Hardiya Koritola village in Bettiah district of Bihar after he “opened fire in air” to chase away kids playing cricket on Prasad's farm. Bablu also “hit and injured” a man with a gunstock.

ANI reports that around 10 children were injured in a stampede which ensued after the minister’s son opened fire in the air to disperse them. “Kids were playing cricket here, four to five men came in a vehicle and started beating them up. Narayan's(the tourism minister's) son was among the people who were beating up the children. He also hit a man with the butt of a gun and opened fire," quoted ANI as an eyewitness Vijay Kumar said.

Following the incident, villagers took control of the alleged government vehicle that was used by the Minister’s son. They broke the nameplate of the vehicle which bore the Minister's name.  The witnesses also said that one person accompanying Bablu broke a villager’s head.

While the Police reached the spot and seized the weapon used by the Minister's son for firing Bablu had fled from the spot.

As per the witnesses, Janardhan Prasad's father Lalbabu Prasad, a resident of Hardiya, was injured in the firing and was being nursed for bullet wounds at the Bettiah government medical college and hospital.
