Andhra Pradesh Govt Declare Two-Day Mourning As Industry Minister Goutham Reddy Dies
Mekapati funeral will be held at Brahmanapally, Atmakuru constituency, Nellore district on February 23.
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh government declared a two-day state mourning following the sudden death of Industries, Commerce, Information Technology minister Mekapati Gowtham Reddy.
The minister died of a heart attack at 8.45 AM on Monday while being treated at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. Doctors provided emergency services to the minister, but he could not survive.
CM Jagan Mohan Reddy paid tributes to Mekapati Goutham Reddy at his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad. Jagan consoled Goutham Reddy's father, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy. Along with CM Jagan, TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy and MP Vijayasai Reddy paid tributes to Goutham Reddy.

The party leaders mourned at the YSRCP headquarters. Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana, Vellampally Srinivas, Kurasala Kannababu, MLC Leyla Appireddy, MLC Meruga Nagarjuna and APCO chairman Chillapally Mohanarao were present in the party office.
Goutham Reddy's funeral will be conducted by the Andhra Pradesh government with the state of honour. Goutham's funeral will be held at Brahmanapally, Atmakur constituency, which is his constituency since he entered politics in Nellore district on February 23.
Former CM and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu said that he was saddened by the sudden death of Goutham Reddy. Unfortunately, a person who was very active and focused on fitness died of a heart attack. Goutham became a minister at a young age. He is a man who stays away from controversies. May God bless his soul, said Naidu.
