Mere Husband Ki Biwi Review: A Fun, Flawed Ride With Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Rakul Preet Singh

Mere Husband Ki Biwi review: While the trailer of Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh starrer didn’t create much excitement, the film turns out to be an enjoyable watch.

Mere Husband Ki Biwi review: Arjun Kapoor seems to be enjoying a good phase in his career. After getting praise for his role in multistarrer ‘Singham Again’, he now finds himself sharing the screen with two stunning actresses Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh in ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’. This is the kind of film where logic takes a backseat, and entertainment is the main goal. While the trailer didn’t create much excitement, the film turns out to be an enjoyable watch. Moreover, the trailer never promised a thought-provoking social message—it simply aimed to entertain, and on that front, it delivers.

Mere Husband Ki Biwi plot

The story revolves around Arjun Kapoor’s character, who gets divorced from Bhumi Pednekar’s character. He later finds love again with Rakul Preet Singh. However, things take a chaotic turn when Bhumi re-enters his life. Without giving away spoilers, let’s just say that the film’s plot is pretty straightforward and can be summed up in a single line.

How is Mere Husband Ki Biwi

Mere Husband Ki Biwi is a good time-pass entertainer. The first half feels stretched and takes a while to get to the point, which is a drawback. However, the second half picks up, especially with the amusing confrontations between Rakul and Bhumi. The film has its fair share of funny moments, but it also borders on being childish at times. Despite this, it manages to hold the audience’s attention.

One aspect that feels repetitive in Bollywood films is the clichéd climax where a heartbroken character immediately rushes to the airport. The convenience of getting last-minute flight tickets and friends somehow reaching airport terminals without any security issues is becoming predictable. This film also follows that pattern, but overall, it remains an entertaining watch.

Performances

Rakul Preet Singh shines the brightest in this film, delivering a charming performance while looking absolutely gorgeous. Bhumi Pednekar is impressive, though her character is loud at times—which seems intentional. The chemistry and clashes between Rakul and Bhumi form the heart of the movie and keep it engaging.

Arjun Kapoor does a decent job and appears to have worked hard on his expressions. One emotional scene where he tells Rakul, "I’m not a trophy for you both to fight over," stands out as a strong moment for him.

Harsh Gujral adds humour and plays his role well. Aditya Seal is likable, and veteran actors like Shakti Kapoor, Mukesh Rishi, and Anita Raj contribute effectively to their roles.

Direction

Mudassar Aziz’s direction is decent. While the first half could have been trimmed and the Rakul-Bhumi interactions extended, he successfully crafts a fun-filled entertainer.

Final verdict

If you’re looking for a lighthearted film to pass the time, Mere Husband Ki Biwi is worth a watch. It may not be flawless, but it serves its purpose of delivering laughs and entertainment.
