Sawan Somwar 2023: Check Out These Vrat Tips To Ensure Energy Balance During Fasts

When observing Sawan Somwar fasts, it is important to stay hydrated and eat nutritious vrat-friendly foods rather than deep-fried and sugary foods. Check out these vrat tips.

As the holy month of Sawan or Shravan commenced, thousands of devotees flocked to their nearby temples to pay their offerings to Lord Shiva. Come Shravan, and devotees observe Sawan Somwar fasts to seek Lord Shiva's blessings for health, wealth, and the fulfilment of their wishes. While unmarried girls fast in order to find a suitable match, married women pray for happiness in their marriage. Due to Mal Maas, Shrawan was extended to two months this year instead of the usual one. Thus, the month of Sawan will begin on July 4 and end on August 31, lasting 59 days. Instead of four Sawan Somvaar or Sawan Mondays, there will be eight. Because July 4 falls on a Tuesday, the first Sawan fast will be on July 10, and the last on August 28.

Observing a fast during the holy month of Sawan is a long-standing tradition in our culture. During these fasts, it is critical to take care of oneself in order to stay hydrated and maintain an energy balance. Check out these tips to keep your health in check:

Begin Your Day And Surround Yourself With Hydrating Beverages:

It is critical to stay hydrated in order to start your day on the right foot. Hydrating beverages such as coconut water, lemon water, homemade iced tea, or buttermilk are recommended. These drinks replenish electrolytes and keep you hydrated all day.

Ensure Fruit Consumption:

Consuming fruit is a quick and healthy way to increase your energy levels while fasting. Bananas are a great choice because they are high in natural sugars and potassium and provide quick energy.

Have Nuts For Long Lasting Energy:

Nuts are an excellent source of both energy and essential nutrients. Almonds, pistachios, walnuts, and figs can be included in a fasting diet. These nuts contain healthy fats, proteins, and dietary fibre, which will keep you satiated and energised.

Curd Can Help You Balance Your Vrat Meal:

It is critical to consume a well-balanced lunch that keeps the stomach full and cool. Curd is a probiotic-rich food that can be combined with a bowl of fruits for maximum benefit. This combination gives the body essential nutrients, aids digestion, and keeps it cool.

Try To Avoid Spices:

To avoid heartburn and discomfort while fasting, avoid spices such as black pepper, red chilli, and green chilli. To avoid any gastric issues that may arise while fasting, choose milder flavours and seasonings.

Breaking Fast With Heavy Foods Can Be Dangerous:

Breaking the fast after a long period of fasting necessitates caution. Heavy foods that can cause severe gastric problems should be avoided. To aid digestion, it is critical to consume food in moderation and choose lighter options.
