Papmochani Ekadashi 2021: Devotees To Observe Last Ekadashi Of Pachang Today - Check Rituals, Significance & Timings

Papmochani Ekadashi 2021 Puja Vidhi: It is believed that devotees who observe Papmochani Ekadashi is absolved from all the past and present sins.

Papmochani Ekadashi 2021 is considered the last Ekadashi of the Hindu panchang which falls between Holika Dahan and Chaitra N Naratri and observed before Yugadi. Papmochani Ekadashiwill be observed on Wednesday (April 7) this year. A total of twenty-four Ekadashis are observed in a year and Papmochani is one among them which is celebrated in the honor of Lord Vishnu.

According to the Hindu calendar, Papmochani Ekadashi is observed on the eleventh day of the Chaitra month during the Krishna Paksha. Also Read:

Papmochani comprises of two words i.e. ‘Pap’ means ‘Sin’ and ‘Mochani’ signifies ‘Removal’. Hence it is believed that devotees who observe Papmochani Ekadashi is absolved from all the past and present sins. On this auspicious day of Papmochani Ekadashi, people worship and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu.

Devotees of Lord Vishnu observes a fast on this particular day with a belief that it would help in leading a peaceful and happy life. By observing fast on Ekadashi, devotees believe it wil help in getting rid of all their griefs and mental afflictions. Apart from this, devotees are also believed to be blessed with wealth after observing Papmochani Ekadashi fast.

There are several rituals observed during Papmochani Ekadashi 2021 which start from the day of Dashami a day prior to Ekadashi. All the devotees keep fast and don’t even cosume food and water. However, some devotees consume water and fruits as well. People get up early morning and take a holy bath at any nearby lake or river.

After taking dip, devotees perform puja of Lord Vishnu where they offer prayers by lighting incense sticks, offer sandalwood paste and flowers to the deity besides chanting mantras of Lord Vishnu and Satyanarayan Katha to please the deity.
