Know How To Prepare Pizza Margherita- One Of The Most Searched Recipes

Here is a quick and easy recipe for Pizza Margherita that you may try out this winter, or even better- add it on your New Year Party menu!

New Delhi: Google published its Year In Search Report for 2022 and interestingly, Pizza Margherita is among Google's global list of most-searched food recipes for 2022. Any pizza fan would swoon at the delicious recipe of Pizza Margherita which has been loaded with cheese, tomatoes and basil.

Here is a quick and easy recipe for Pizza Margherita that you may try out this winter, or even better- add it on your New Year Party menu!

Ingredients:

  • 3+ 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1 pinch white sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour for dusting
  • 2 cups pizza sauce
  • 20 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 20 leaves of fresh basil
  • olive oil
  • sea salt to taste

Preparation:

  • In a bowl, combine 1 teaspoon of salt and the flour. aside.
  • In another large bowl, combine sugar, yeast, and water. Allow it to stand for about 5 minutes, or until yeast starts to produce a creamy foam.
  • Stir half the flour mixture into the yeast mixture until no dry spots remain. Stir in remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. When the dough pulls together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
  • Place the dough in a sizable bowl and lightly oil it before turning it to coat it with oil. Cover with a thin cloth and allow it to rise for approximately an hour, or until it has doubled in size, in a warm environment (80 to 95 degrees F; 27 to 35 degrees C). Four equal pieces of dough are divided, punched down, and then formed into balls.
  • Set a pizza stone in the oven and heat it to 500 degrees F. 
  • One dough ball should be stretched and patted into a circle that is 10 to 12 inches in diameter. Place the dough on a pizza peel that has been lightly dusted with flour. Add 1/2 cup of tomato sauce on top, spreading it to cover the dough to within an inch of the edge.
  • The preheated oven's pizza stone should be slid onto each pie. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  • Once done, slice it with a pizza cutter and serve.
