Whether it is rejuvenating the dal or preparing vegetable masala, garlic has to be peeled and used. Garlic does enhance the taste of food but takes a long time to be peeled. Even professionals find peeling garlic a time-consuming process. The smaller the buds are more difficult it is to peel them. Sometimes it takes 15-20 minutes to peel just one garlic.

Here are 5 easy ways to peel garlic

Method 1: First of all, whenever you buy garlic, make sure that the garlic buds are big and clean. First, take out the cloves of garlic. Now take a deep-bottomed vessel and place garlic cloves in it. Cover the pot with something. Now shake the pot rapidly, which would separate the peel from the buds. After a while shake the pot again, to remove the peel from all the buds. In the end, separate the garlic buds from the peel. This is a quick and clean way to peel garlic.  

Method 2: Take lukewarm water in a vessel and put garlic buds in it. Now leave it for 10 minutes. If the peel looks clean, rub it with your hands, which would make the peel separate from the buds easily.

Method 3: The third way to peel garlic is to lightly crush the buds with a stone or rolling pin, which will start peeling it off. However, you need not crush the garlic completely, or else the buds will not be able to completely separate from the peel.  

Method 4: Cut the garlic buds lengthwise in two halves with the help of a knife, and take the garlic buds out from the middle. This is a very simple and effective way to peel garlic.

Method 5: You can also peel garlic with a knife or a blade. For this, place the sharp part of the knife on the garlic bud and push it inside. Now put some pressure on the knife. This will separate the garlic bud from its peel.  

Method 6: This is the easiest way to peel garlic, which takes less effort and time. Roll the garlic in the same way as you roll a roti with a rolling pin. This will separate the peel on its own. You can easily remove the buds.
