New Delhi: Valentine's Day is just knocking at the door and this day of love is often associated with sweet treats, including cakes. Baking a cake or buying one as a gift can be a fun and thoughtful way to show love and appreciation to your partner, friends, or family members.
Here are some delicious cake recipes shared with ABP Live by pastry chef Anupama Banerjee that you can try out on this day.
1. Red Velvet Cupcake:
As the colour red is a sign of love, there is nothing like a piece of Red Velvet cupcake to show how special someone is.
Ingredients:
For Cake:
- Flour- 180g
- Cocoa powder- 20g
- Condensed milk- 200g
- Butter- 200g
- Baking powder- 1tsp
- Baking soda- 1/2 tsp
- Powdered sugar- 1tbsp
- Vanilla essence- 1tsp
- Soda Water- 1 cup
- Red food colour- 1 tsp
For Frosting:
- Whipping cream-150g
- Cream Cheese- 150g
- Powdered Sugar- 50g
- Vanilla Essence- 1/2 tsp
Preparation:
- Beat the condensed milk and butter to make a smooth paste.
- Then add the sugar and all other liquid ingredients one by one.
- Now, take all the dry ingredients and give them a good mix.
- Transfer the ready batter into cupcake moulds and place them in a preheated oven for 20-30 mins.
- Next, beat the whipping cream properly, till a proper peak is achieved and keep it aside.
- Now, beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar to make a smooth paste.
- Add in the vanilla essence.
- Once done, take the whipped cream and cream cheese, giving them a good mix.
- With this, the whole frosting of the cupcake is ready. Pour that into a piping bag and make small roses on each cupcake.
- After decorating as per your choice, the red velvet cupcakes are ready to be served.
2. Chocolate Cupcake With Fresh Strawberry:
Chocolate is something that makes everyone happy while strawberries resemble the shape of our hearts. Thus, chocolate combined with Strawberry creates a heavenly feeling.

- Cocoa powder- 50g
- Condensed milk- 200g
- Butter- 200g
- Baking powder- 1tsp
- Baking soda- 1/2 tsp
- Powdered sugar- 1tbsp
- Vanilla essence- 1tsp
- Soda Water- 1 cup
- Fresh Strawberries cut into pieces
Preparation:
- Beat the condensed milk and butter to make a smooth paste.
- Then add the sugar and all other liquid ingredients one by one.
- Now, take all the dry ingredients and give them a good mix.
- Mix the strawberry pieces into the batter.
- Transfer the ready batter into cupcake moulds and place them in a preheated oven for 25-30 mins.
- Now, you can decorate the cupcakes with whipped cream and fresh strawberries

- Dried/ Fresh cranberries as per availability
