While Mumbai is a great city and the air is always filled with something exciting, there are places near the city, which can be a perfect getaway during the festive season.

1. Vadgaon: The village of Vadgaon is situated in Maharashtra in the Satara district. It is famous for its Jain and Potoba Maharaj temples and Mhadaji Shinde garden. There are many resorts in this place where you can spend this long weekend with friends and family and at the same time enjoy Diwali in the quiet, much away from the hustle and bustle of the city. 3. Tala: The biggest attraction of Tala is Talgad fort. Along with it, the marketplace in Tala village where Chandika Mata Temple is found is another popular place to visit. Since,  Tala is located near numerous lakes, which gives the origin of its name. The Forest Hills resort in Raigad, which is buried deep in the middle of the forest near the Kuda Caves, is a good option if you want an exciting stay while visiting Tala.

4. Karjat: The final station in Maharashtra's Thane district is the charming little village of Karjat. Karjat, where the river Ulhas originates, is a well-liked destination for trekkers and adventure seekers due to its trekking opportunities and historical attractions. It is renowned for the Kondana Caves, where sculptures, vihara, chaityas, and stupas depict the ancient Buddhist way of life, while the Peth Fort is renowned for trekking.

5. Khandala: A well-known hill resort in Maharashtra, Khandala is located at the base of the Sahyadri Mountains in the Western Ghats. With its picturesque valleys, green hills, calm lakes, and misty waterfalls, Khandala offers the people of Mumbai the ideal weekend getaway. It is a well-liked hiking location from nearby cities because of its easy access. Karla Hills and Duke's Nose Peak are two well-liked locations for rock climbing.
