Muslim League Should Decide On Staying With UDF Bearing Humiliation Or Remain Independent: Kerala Minister
The Kerala Minister's statement coincided with CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) securing four seats from both UDF and NDA in local body by-elections in the state held on Thursday.
Kerala Minister P Rajeev said that the Left Front would make a breakthrough due to significant advancement in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections due to favorable circumstances. Additionally, he highlighted tension in seat-sharing between UDF and Muslim League and urged the latter to reconsider its alliance. The Kerala Minister's statement coincided with the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) securing four seats from both the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) and the BJP in the local body by-elections across various districts of the state held on Thursday.
On Lok Sabha elections, Kerala Minister P Rajeev said, "The Left Front will make a big breakthrough in the Lok Sabha elections this time. The last time was a special situation. The current situation favours the Left."
"The League (Muslim League) is begging for the third seat. Despite having one-third representation in the Assembly, the League is begging for the seat. The League must decide whether to bear the humiliation and stay with the UDF or remain independent," he said.

Meanwhile, according to the state Election Commission's website, out of the 23 seats contested in the recent by-elections, the LDF secured 9 seats, the UDF 10, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) 3, and others secured one. Initially, before the by-elections, the UDF held 13 seats, the LDF held five, the NDA held four, and others held one.
The election victory gained prominence since it was a win for the party ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha polls.
