The Kerala Minister's statement coincided with the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) securing four seats from both the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) and the BJP in the local body by-elections across various districts of the state held on Thursday.

On Lok Sabha elections, Kerala Minister P Rajeev said, "The Left Front will make a big breakthrough in the Lok Sabha elections this time. The last time was a special situation. The current situation favours the Left."
