IRCTC Down: Users Are Unable To Book Tickets As Website Faces First Outage Of 2025, Netizens React
IRCTC Down: The Indian Railway ticketing website has faced a second outage in less than two weeks. Frustrated users hopped on X to vent out.

IRCTC DOWN: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website has encountered its first outage of 2025, leaving users across the country unable to access the platform or book tickets. According to a site that monitors service disruptions, Downdetector, over 1,000 reports of issues were logged around 11:21 am IST. The website was previously down just before New Year so this marks the second instance of service disruption in less than two weeks.
IRCTC Outage: What Does Downdetector Show?
According to the DownDetector website, the issue began at around 9:00 am IST when users started facing troubles with the website. By 10:51 am IST, 37 complaints had been registered regarding IRCTC's website not functioning properly. By 11:06 am IST, there were more than 500 complaints, and in an hour, the complaints doubled to hit the mark of 1,048.
The platform’s outage map highlighted disruptions across major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Patna, Chennai, Kolkata, and several others. As per the reports, 41 per cent of users reported issues with the app, 31 per cent reported issues with website and around 29 per cent faced problems in booking tickets.
