Third Monkeypox Case Confirmed In Kerala, Man Returned From UAE
Monkeypox Cases India: The family members and close contacts are under observation, said the health minister.
Chennai: India’s third monkeypox case was confirmed after a 35-year-old man who returned from UAE to Kerala tested positive for the infection on Friday. The man returned to Mallapuram from UAE on July 6.
Addressing reporters, Kerala Health Minister Veena George said, “A 35-yr-old man returned to Mallapuram from UAE on July 6. He was admitted with a fever at Manjerry Medical College Hospital on July 13. He then started showing symptoms of monkeypox from July 15.”

Following this, he was diagnosed with the infection on Friday.
Meanwhile, Kerala Health Minister said that the patient's family and close contacts are kept under observation.
On July 18, the second monkeypox case was confirmed in India after a 31-year-old man who reached Kannur in Kerala from Dubai on July 13 was diagnosed with the infection.
The first monkeypox case was reported in India on July 14. The case also emerged from Kerala where a 35-year-old man who returned from UAE was found to have the infection.
Kerala is already collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team sent by the Centre for implementing the health measures and curbing the spread of the virus.
