Kerala Govt College Principal Files Complaint Against Former Student For Forging Certificates
The former student reportedly claimed that she was teaching as a Guest Lecturer at Maharaja's Government College in Ernakulam during 2018-19 and 2020-21.
The principal of Maharaja's Government College in Ernakulam filed a complaint against a former student for producing a fake experience certificate and seeking a job as a guest lecturer at government college in Wayanad. The former student reportedly claimed that she was teaching as a Guest Lecturer at Maharaja's Government College in Ernakulam during 2018-19 and 2020-21.
According to ANI, K Vidya, a resident of Kasargod, did her MA in Malayalam during 2016 - 2018 at Maharaja's College.
Addressing the reporters, the principal of Maharaja's Government College said that a teacher from Government College in Wayanad got in touch with her to enquire about the authenticity of the certificates produced by the candidate who appeared for the post of Guest Lecturer in Malayalam department.
The principal said, "Her certificate showed that she was teaching as a Guest Lecturer here during 2018-19 and 2020-21. On perusal of our records it was found out that this college had not sought the services of any guest lecturer in the Malayalam department in the past one decade."
"Then we checked the certificate of experience and it was shown as signed by the Principal/Head of Department. No certificates are issued by the head of departments in this college. The seal and the emblem are all fake. After doing all this we registered a complaint against Vidya with the local police," the principal said.
Vidya using the fake certificates has also taught government colleges at Kasaragod and Palakkad. She had completed her MPhil from Sanskrit University at Kalady. During the same time, she was also a leading SFI student's activist.
Following this, the certificate issue soon snowballed into a political debate in Kerala. KSU, the Congress-backed student organisation, staged a protest blaming SFI, the student organisation of CPI (M) to be behind the racket.
Mohammed Shiyas, the Ernakulam district Congress committee president, said the woman is a close friend of a now leading SFI office-bearer.
"This is the work of the CPI(M), which will go to any extent to help their cadres, and this is a clear case of fraud being done and using the government influence wrongly," said Shiyas, as per the report.
