30 Butterfly Species Found In Green Cover At Kottayam College - WATCH
Dr. Vargheese C Joshuva, the former Principal of CMS College Kottayam, revealed that within this nature-friendly haven, 1,650 species of plants and trees thrived in the premises.
According to ANI, 30 butterfly species can be seen in the green cover at the CMS College campus in Kottayam.

CMS College Kottayam Principal Dr Vargheese C Joshuva said, "In this nature-friendly campus, we can see 1,650 species of plants and trees. We can consider this CMS college campus a place which is dominated by trees so the place that is dominated by plants should be rich in flora and fauna."
"Here, a lot of butterflies are seen and we have identified different species of ants and thousands of microbes in the green cover and we have identified 30 species of butterfly on our campus," he said.
CMS College Professor Shanavas Sheriff said, "CMS College is one of the most beautiful campuses in the country having a geographical area of more than 50 acres. This campus is blessed with a lot of rare species of flora and fauna."
"We have a plant called Crotalaria Retusa...we have more than 30 species of butterflies surrounding that plant...Butterflies are much adapted to the campus...It's a soothing view to see such rare butterflies on the campus," he added.
