Although the email did not specify the branch, police promptly responded by deploying teams to all hospital branches.
Six private hospitals received a bomb threat via email, which ultimately proved to be false, police in the city stated on Monday. Subsequently, authorities initiated a comprehensive search operation in these hospitals, deploying dog squads and bomb disposal teams.
According to the report, Bengaluru Police's Special Branch received an email on Sunday, alleging the presence of explosive materials inside a hospital. Although the email did not specify the branch, police promptly responded by deploying teams to all hospital branches.
Following a thorough combing operation, the threat was determined to be a hoax. Bengaluru Police have initiated an investigation to apprehend those responsible for the false alarm.
A senior police official confirmed that no suspicious object was found within the premises of the hospitals. He reiterated that the threat was a hoax, as per PTI.
The email to the hospitals on Sunday claimed: "I have placed explosive devices in your building. They will explode in the following hours. This isn't a threat, you have a few hours to disarm the bomb or else the blood of the innocent people inside of the building will be on your hands."
