New Delhi: Shivamogga district in Karnataka is witnessing unrest as the angry protestors set ablaze to the public property since Bajrang Dal activist Harsha's murder on Sunday evening. On Tuesday, two autos and a motorcycle were torched by angry protestors in Shivamogga and the investigation is underway, said Minister KC Narayana Gowda according to news agency ANI.
"The overall situation is peaceful. The public should not worry as the situation will normalise soon. Two persons -- Kashif and Nadeem -- have been taken into custody by police. Kashif has around 10 cases on him," The Minister was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Meanwhile, DIG Eastern Range of Shivamogga, Dr K Thiagarajan opined that the issue has arisen due to the previous enmity. But, he assured that the law and order situation is under control. "We've taken 3-4 persons into custody. As of now, we strongly believe this has happened with regard to the previous enmity. Law & order situation is under control. Further probe on," he said as quoted by news agency ANI.
The residents of Shivamogga were already experiencing turmoil due to the ongoing hijab controversy and then on late Sunday evening, Harsha, the Bajrang Dal activist was found stabbed to death near the main road in the city. This raked up protests across the district and it got violent by Monday noon. Due to the prevailing tensions, the government ordered schools and colleges to remain shut on Monday and Tuesday in the Shivamogga district.
Home Minister Araga Janendra on Monday said that the police department has arrested three members in connection with the murder case and he refused to disclose any further information as the investigation was underway.
