'Either They Lie...': Union Min After Congress Says K'taka Govt Properties Given To Bodies Close To RSS, BJP

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has slammed Congress for Karnataka Minister's 'many state government properties have been given to institutions connected to RSS or BJP' remark.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has slammed Karnataka Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao for his remark that many state government properties have been given to institutions connected to RSS or BJP during previous governments. Reacting to the claim, Chandrasekhar said that Congress either speaks lies or does not make any sense in whatever the party says. He said that Gundu Rao is in one of those categories and should figure out which category he belongs to.

Karnataka Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has earlier said, "...a lot of Govt properties have been handed over to many institutions belonging to the Sangh Parivar. So, we have to look at all those things, see if they have been done properly, legally and what we can do on those issues. But definitely, a lot of State Govt properties have been given to institutions & organisations which are closely connected to the RSS and BJP."

While responding to Rao's comments, Chandrasekhar said that he seldom gets into a debate with Congress because "either they are lying through their teeth or they make no sense. So, Gundu Rao is in one of those categories. He should figure out which category".

Earlier, speaking on the removal of some lessons from state government textbooks, including one on KB Hedgewar, Rao said, "We should have stories about people who have really contributed to the building of the nation. If you talk about the freedom struggle, those who participated in the freedom struggle - history should reflect that, not your personal choices, not who you idolise. BJP has tried to infuse their ideological issues into textbooks, which is not correct...So, Congress party will have to look at it very seriously and take corrective measures.."
