U'khand rains: Guv questions lack of preparedness, calls for better arrangements

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 12 (ANI): As heavy rains lashed Uttarakhand and threw normal life out of gear, the state's Governor KK Paul on Thursday took stock of the situation.

The Governor also spoke with the District Magistrate in the regard and inquired about the lack of preparedness.

He also directed the authorities to make better arrangements.

Seven people were killed and two other injured in rain-related incidents in Uttarakhand's Dehradun district on Wednesday

Government schools and anganwadi centres in Dehradun will remain closed due to heavy rain, while the District Magistrate of Nainital has ordered the closure of all schools.

The India Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in Uttarakhand till Sunday. (ANI)
