Sidhu should stay in Pak: Sukhbir Badal

New Delhi [India] August 14 (ANI): Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday criticized cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu for deciding to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Pakistan Prime Minister designate Imran Khan.

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab said, "No idea of what Sidhu will do tomorrow or day after and he has no realization of what damage his actions can do. I think that if he permanently settles there (Pakistan), then there will be peace in both Punjab and the country".

Navjot Singh Sidhu is one of the former cricketers who has received an invite for attending the swearing-in ceremony of Pakistan PM designate Imran Khan.

During a Press conference on August 2 at Chandigarh, Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu highlighted that the invitation extended to him is personal.

On Monday Sidhu also visited Pakistan High Commission. While leaving from there he said, "I came here for some formalities. I have applied for government permission. I sought political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs. Everything now depends on the Indian government's permission".

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has already announced that Imran Khan's oath-taking ceremony would take place at the President House in Islamabad on August 18. (ANI)
