Rajasthan floods: Rescue operations in full swing in worst-affected Sanchore
Sanchore (Rajasthan) [India], July 31 (ANI): Most of the roads of Rajasthan's Sirohi, Pali and Jalore districts have been blocked and the traffic movement is badly affected due to the massive floods in the state.
The relief and rescue operations are in full swing and more than 1,050 people have been resuced from the affected areas.
The situation in the Sanchore town further aggravated when the gates of the Jawai Dam were opened on Friday.
It's reported that three women - two pregnant and one with a two-month-old baby - were rescued from Sanchore's Shivpura village.
Of the two pregnant women, one was in a critical condition and was taken to Sanchore town for a safe delivery.
Sanchore is completely disconnected from the rest of the state owing to the floods, but in the past 24 hours, the moderate rainfall helped the administration and the SDRF teams to rescue those who were stranded.
The rescue operations by the Army and the district administration teams ran smoothly owing to day of moderate rainfall.
As many as 1,500 food packets, 2,000 packed drinking water bottles, medical supplies for both civilians and animals, and lifesaving jackets were distributed to the stranded Sanchore. (ANI)
