PM Modi extends greetings on Ganesh Chaturthi

New Delhi [India], Aug 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended greetings to the nation on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Taking to the Twitter, the Prime Minister wished the nation and said, "Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi."

The nation will today observe Ganesh Chaturthi, a Hindu festival that reveres god Ganesha.

The ten-day festival, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi , falls on the fourth day of the Hindu month Bhadrapada, usually in August or September.

On the last day of the festival, the idol is carried in a public procession with music and group chanting, then immersed in nearby water body. (ANI)
