Patidar trio booked for raiding house

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India] July 8(ANI): Patidar quota agitation leader Hardik Patel along with Gujarat MLAs Alpesh Thakor and Jignesh Mevani were booked by the police for allegedly raiding a house containing illegal liquor.

Following this, the three accused protested outside Gandhinagar Superintendent of Police (SP)'s office, after the woman, whose house was raided, filed an FIR against them for allegedly illegally entering her house.

Furthermore, Mevani critisised the Gujarat Police for not exposing the bootleggers.

"Instead of taking any action against the bootleggers, Gujarat Police files an FIR against me, Hardik Patel and Alpesh Thakor for exposing that alcohol is being sold at a distance of 100 meters of District Superintendent's office at Gandhinagar. Shame!" he tweeted.

Speaking to media here, Alpesh claimed that the raid was conducted as the family had a criminal background.

"We want to make the state alcohol free," he added.

Meanwhile, Gandhinagar SP said the matter will be investigated thoroughly, and action will be taken based on the investigation. (ANI)
