Mentally challenged boy made SHO in Lucknow

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Jan 20 (ANI): The Uttar Pradesh Police has garnered a lot of appreciation for making a mentally challenged person as the Station House Officer (SHO) for an hour in Lucknow.

The police, under the community policing initiative, made the boy named Sahir Singh the SHO of Lucknow's PGI Police station.

An elated Singh said that he always wanted to be a police inspector and the city police at the request of his parents fulfilled his wish.

"On the request of his parents, we made him the SHO for an hour. He was very happy with it," said SSP Deepak Kumar. (ANI)
