J-K CM calls for friendship between India, Pak

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], January 7 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday appealed to Pakistan and India to hold talks to bring peace in the Valley.

"I appealed to Pakistan and our country's head (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) to get the people of Kashmir out of this mud. I urge them to hold dialogue and befriend each other", she said while addressing a rally in Anantnag.

She further asked both the nations to resolve their issues and safeguard the soldiers.

Kashmir has been bearing the brunt of India and Pakistan's rivalry since a long time with the cases of unprovoked firing, ceasefire violation and stone pelting increasing in the state.

Earlier, the Centre appointed Dineshwar Sharma as interlocutor for the Valley to hold a "sustained dialogue with all stakeholders" to find a political solution to the Kashmir issue. (ANI)
