Goa by-elections: Parrikar says, will win with 'thumping majority'
Panaji (Goa) [India], Aug 6 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, on Sunday, said that he is very confident that people of Panaji will give him "thumping majority" in the upcoming by-elections.
Speaking to ANI, Parrikar said, "I am going from house to house to meet people and might have covered 25% of the constituency in the bypoll election Interactive session with the residents."
The assembly bypoll elections will be taking place on August 23 in Goa.
Earlier on Wednesday, Congress declared its candidates for two assembly seats in the upcoming Panaji and Valpoi Assembly by-elections in Goa.
Secretary of All India Congress Committee Girish Chodankar will be contesting for Panaji seat while Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Goa, Roy Ravi Naik will be contesting from Valpoi assembly constituency.
Former Congress leader health minister Vishwajit Pratapsingh Rane is Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) pick for the Valpoi bypoll.(ANI)
