CVC lauds Centre's efforts to curb corruption

New Delhi [India], Nov 2 (ANI): Central Vigilance Commissioner K. V. Chowdary on Wednesday lauded the Central Government's reforms to curb the menace of black money and corruption.

Speaking to ANI, Chowdary said, "The Central Government has taken many steps to curb corruption. During demonetisation, lots of cash were deposited in the banks. The transactions were done through banking and government can track them easily."

Chowdary also mentioned about the Pyramid Transaction Prohibition Act, which has been notified after many years by the Central Government.

He said, "Pyramid transaction prohibition act has been notified after many years under which 400 properties have been seized."

"Black money and corruption is related and government has taken up strict steps against them", added Chowdary.

Talking about their measures to check corruption in government offices, Chowdary said, "When CVC gets some specific information, investigation and search are made through CBI. In cases where officers are seen making more assets, a disproportionate assets case is lodged against them. Everything is done on the basis of evidence." (ANI)
