Chhattisgarh Govt hands over 'sex CD' scandal probe to CBI

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], October 28 (ANI): The Chhattisgarh government on Saturday handed the probe over controversial sex CD scandal, allegedly involving state minister Rajesh Munat, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Meanwhile, speaking to ANI, Chhattisgarh Minister Rajesh Munat reiterated his earlier remark that the CD was 100 percent fake.

"Vinod Verma's relations with Bhupesh Baghel (Chhattisgarh Congress chief) must be made public," he told ANI.

Earlier, members of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha held a massive protest outside Bhupesh Baghel's residence in Raipur and blackened his name plate.

The police on Saturday registered a case against state Congress Committee president Bhupesh Baghel and journalist Vinod Verma in the case.

Verma was arrested from his residence in Indirapuram in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad on Friday on charges of blackmailing an employee of minister Rajesh Munat over his alleged obscene video. He, however, had alleged he was being framed by the state government because he possessed the minister's 'Sex CD'. (ANI)
