Ananth Kumar hits out at Congress for moving Privilege Motion

New Delhi [India], July 25 (ANI): Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar today took a dig at Congress President Rahul Gandhi following the Opposition's decision to move a Privilege Motion against PM Narendra Modi and defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman for allegedly misleading the lower house over Rafale aircraft deal during No Confidence Motion debate.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament, Kumar said, "Congress and its President Rahul Gandhi lack knowledge about the rules and procedures of Parliament." He also added that although it is their right to bring such a motion but they should read in which cases a Privilege Motion can be brought.

Congress parliamentary leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Veerappa Moily, Jyotiraditya Scindia, KV Thomas and Rajeev Satav on Tuesday met Speaker Sumitra Mahajan in the evening and gave separate notices regarding the Privilege Motion.

The minister also asserted that the rival Congress will again face huge embarrassment on the floor of the house in the not so distant future.

Lashing out at the Congress, Kumar stated that the Gandhi scion has realised that no other political outfit will support him as a prime ministerial candidate in the upcoming elections.

"Out of sheer desperation and frustration, Rahul Gandhi has started singing a new tune stating he is open to having a prime ministerial candidate from alliance partners residing in any part of the corner of India, " he added.(ANI)
