6 held, SIT formed in Chhapra gang rape case

Chhapra (Bihar) [India], July 7 (ANI): At least six people have been arrested and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to further investigate the alleged gang rape of a minor in a private school by students and the faculty, including the Principal, in Bihar's Chhapra district.

Additional Director General, Bihar, Sanjeev Kumar Singhal on Saturday said, "Six accused have been arrested and an SIT formed to nab other accused. An investigation is underway".

On Friday, the Bihar Police arrested six people including the principal of the school, a teacher and two students over the allegations of the school girl.

In her complaint to the police, the girl alleged that the principal, two teachers and 15 students of a school blackmailed and gang-raped her ever since her father went to jail in December 2017.

A case has been registered in Chhapra's Parsagarh that falls under Ekma police station, based on the girl's statement. (ANI)
