'I Don't Understand Why...': Khan Sir Slams Centralised Exams As He Discusses NTA At Ideas Of India 2025

At the session themed 'The 21st Century Indian: Learning To Survive', Khan Sir was asked by Author Chetan Bhagat about NTA and the alleged irregularities in the exams conducted by the agency.

Educator and YouTuber Faizal Khan, famously known as Khan Sir, spoke at the ABP Network's Ideas of India 2025, where he shared his views on the National Testing Agency and the alleged irregularities in the competitive exams being conducted by the central agency.

The Educator, who is also a social worker and Founder of Khan Global Studies and Khan Research Centre, was asked by Author Chetan Bhagat about the paper leaks and the NTA at the session themed 'The 21st Century Indian: Learning To Survive'.

"An authority has been made to conduct tests across India. There are a lot of people there who have exam papers and if there are irregularities in 10 percent of the seats out of 30,000 seats, and you are saying a paper is sold for as high as 30-50 lakh per paper, there is an income of 1000-1500 crore. This might not look like a big scam such as Commonwealth games, but it might actually be bigger than that. So isn't there a high chances of paper leak?," Chetan Bhagat asked Khan.

To this, Khan Sir replied: "I don't understand one thing. Our Constitution favours the federal government and talks about decentralisation of power. Then why is centralisation of examination being done? On one hand you day decentralisation is important to run the country, on the other hand you centralise examination process and play with the lives of students by setting up an agency like NTA. Have you ever thought what would happen if there is an issue in this agency?"

He then went on to say that one person has the control for this and his morality can be ruined in two minutes. "Someone studying in AIIMS studies for free, but a person studying in a private college to pursue MBBS will have to spend around Rs 2 crore. In such a case, a person might think that it is better to rather spend Rs 50 lakhs and buy the exam papers to get admission in a government college than to spend Rs 2 crore for admission to a private university which does not have much reputation," he said.

Khan reasoned that the person sitting in power might become greedy because of this, which starts the paper leak chain. "If someone gives one paper for Rs 50 lakh then he might be tempted to sell it to more people given the huge margins," he said.

The Educator further stressed that the solution to tackle this is to decrease the differenes between the fees of government and private colleges and to increase the seats in government colleges. "Or if you want to continue with this, then its best to do it openly announce an open rate for seats for those who study and those from the rich families to buy the seat. This is better than paper leak," he said.

Khan Sir is an Educator and YouTuber based in Patna, Bihar. He owns and manages coaching centres under Khan Global Studies where students prepare for different competitive exams including UPSC and state PSC, NEET, JEE, Police exams, defence exams, railway exams, and SSC.

Khan Global Studies runs coaching centres in Musallahpur Hat and Boring Road in Patna, Prayagraj, Karol Bagh and Mukherjee Nagar in Delhi, and in Dehradun.
