Covid-19 Tally In India Crosses 52 Lakh Mark; Govt Says 13 States, UTs Record Less Than 5k Infections
Amid rising coronavirus cases, the Union Health Ministry has said there are still 13 union territories and states that have less than 5k cases. The Ministry has also said that they are actively supporting areas with high caseloads.
New Delhi: The cases of coronavirus are steadily increasing in India and on Thursday India recorded 97,894 new cases of Coronavirus cases within just 24 hours. The total cases in India have also gone beyond 52 lakhs. But the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has said that 60 per cent of the active cases are concentrated in only 5 most affected states.
As per the ministry, the total case tally stands at 52,14,678 including 10,17,754 active cases, 41,12,552 cured/discharged/migrated & 84,372 deaths.
According to information by the news agency ANI, the ministry has said that 13 states and union territories still have cases less than 5000. These include Puducherry, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Ladakh, Mizoram, Sikkim, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.

In a tweet, it said that several Central teams deputed for providing support and capacities of ICU doctors were also built up through tele-consultation by AIIMS, New Delhi.At present India has a total of 1017754 active cases and the total fatalities have reached 84,372. On Thursday, the Mumbai Police announced restrictions on movement and gathering under section 144 of CrPC in the city due to rising corona cases. The order prohibits any presence of movement of one or more persons in public places, or gathering any sort anywhere, including religious places subject to conditions mentioned in the order.
