Delhi Registers 1,011 New Covid Cases In Last 24 Hours, Positivity Rate Surges To 6.42%

According to the data, the number of infections in the national capital has risen to 18,75,887, with a death toll of 26,170.

New Delhi: Delhi reported 1,011 new COVID-19 cases and one death on Monday, while the positivity rate increased to 6.42 per cent, as per the health department, news agency PTI reported.

The previous day, 15,642 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the city, according to the report.

On Sunday, 1,083 COVID-19 cases were reported in Delhi, with a positive rate of 4.48 per cent, and one person died as a result of the disease. 

On Saturday, the capital recorded 1,094 COVID-19 infections, the most since February 10, with a positive rate of 4.82 per cent and two fatalities.

On Friday, Delhi has 1,042 cases with a positive rate of 4.64 per cent and two fatalities. The city recorded 965 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, with a positive rate of 4.71 per cent and one fatality.

According to government data, the number of Covid-19 patients in home isolation in Delhi soared more than sixfold between April 11 to April 24. While the city had 447 home isolation patients on April 11, the number grew to 504 on April 13 and then jumped further to 574 the next day.

The Arvind Kejriwal government has stated that, while the number of coronavirus infections in the national capital is increasing, the situation is not worrisome because the city-hospitalization state's rate is low.

Masks are now compulsory in public locations in Delhi. Violations will result in a fine of $500. The Delhi government also agreed to provide the third dosage of the Covid-19 vaccine free of charge at government health centres for anyone aged 18 to 59.
