Coronavirus Cure? 'Dexamethasone' Steroid Proves First Life-Saving Drug; Cures 1 Of 3 Severe Patients

New Delhi: After rounds of research and assurance by health researchers and authorities, the Health Minister of United Kingdom has announced that the country will inject Coronavirus patients with 'dexamethasone' steroid, a cheap anti-inflammatory drug for arthritis and other ailments that cuts risk of death in Covid-19 patients who are on ventilators by one third. Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, positive results of a medication is a big sigh of relief. Dexamethasone has become the first drug as of now to treat the incurable viral disease. The medicine, usually given orally in a tablet form or even infect to the patients, was first discovered in 1957.
As per the media reports, it is commonly prescribed to patients with allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis and some types of cancer.
BBC has reported that the drug which is still under the study, could be of huge benefit in poorer countries with high numbers of Covid-19 patients.

Meanwhile, a USA TODAY report claimed that the drug reduced deaths by 35 per cent in patients who needed treatment with breathing machines and by 20% in those who only needed supplemental oxygen. It did not appear to help less ill patients.
Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough.
Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea. These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually. Some people become infected but don’t develop any symptoms and don't feel unwell.
The novel disease has infected over seven million people across the globe, claiming thousands of lives. Doctors and medical researchers in the whole world are in continuous efforts to develop a cure and vaccine for the contagious disease.
