Spider-Man 2 Update Details Revealed: Launch Date, New Game+, New Suits, Everything Else You Need To Know

In collaboration with Marvel Games and Gameheads, Insomniac Games has introduced two new suits: the Fly N’ Fresh suits. Players, however, will have to pay $4.99 for early access.

Insomniac Games, the team behind last year's bestseller Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, unveiled exciting details about the forthcoming major title update slated to launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 consoles. Read on to check what all the new update entails.

Spider-Man 2 Update Date

First things first, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 players will be able to access the new update starting March 7. Needless to say, the update will automatically be added OTA, if you have the game installed on your console.

Spider-Man 2 Update v1.002: What's New

New Game+, Finally!

Version 1.002 of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 introduces the highly anticipated New Game+ mode, catering to fans eager to revisit the game with enhanced challenges. Players can now relive their favourite missions while retaining all unlocked suits and abilities. Additionally, the update offers new content such as Ultimate Levels and Golden Gadget styles, promising extended hours of gameplay.

Symbiote Customisations

In response to the community's requests, Insomniac Games has expanded customisation options by incorporating suit styles inspired by Peter’s symbiote story. These styles, accessible through New Game+ Ultimate Levels, allow players to personalise their characters further. Moreover, players can now select the colour of their symbiote abilities, enhancing the visual experience.

Suits! Suits! Suits!

The update introduces Marvel’s Hellfire Gala suits for both Peter and Miles, providing players with additional costume options at no extra cost. Peter’s suit design, created by Russell Dauterman, and Miles' iconic look from Bernard Chang’s artwork in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #8, will be available.

Photo Made Additions

Enhancements to Photo Mode, including action figure mode and stickers, enable players to capture and share memorable moments with ease. Moreover, the ability to adjust the time of day post-story completion enhances the creative possibilities for capturing stunning in-game visuals.

Accessibility Upgrades

Notably, the update incorporates significant accessibility improvements, including Audio Descriptions and Screen Reader features, fulfilling a long-standing demand from the gaming community. Additional features such as Cinematic Captions and High Contrast Outlines have also been included to enhance the gaming experience for all players.

Fly N' Fresh Suits

In collaboration with Marvel Games and Gameheads, Insomniac Games has introduced two new suits: the Fly N’ Fresh suits. These suits, available for early access at $4.99, will support Gameheads’ mission of empowering low-income youth and youth of colour in the video game industry. PlayStation will donate $4.99 from each purchase of the Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack in the United States, up to $1 million, from March 7 to April 5, 2024.

The Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack includes a Fly Suit for Peter and a Fresh Suit for Miles, along with 10 photo mode stickers and 2 photo mode frames. Rest assured, these suits will be available to all players at no additional cost at a later date.
