PlayStation Plus Game Catalog August Lineup Announced: Yakuza 0, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Dead By Daylight, More

Metro Exodus, Bugsnax, UNO, and more to choose from.

PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Deluxe subscribers are set to get their hands on a bunch of free games in August, Sony announced on Wednesday. Starting August 16, users of the aforementioned plans will be able to download and play nearly a dozen new games, including the likes of Yakuza 0, Dead by Daylight, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. This is on top of the three free games announced for the PS Plus Essential plan available this month — Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Little Nightmares.

While Ghost Recon Wildlands was confirmed a day after a leak suggested the open-world action title will be added to the August free games lineup, the Yakuza games are a welcome addition to fans of Japanese role-playing games (JRPGs). Apart from Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will also be a part of Sony’s Game Catalog this month. If you haven’t experienced a Yakuza game before, and if you have around 25-30 hours to spare on each game, we highly recommend you try out the critically acclaimed Yakuza 0. Sony had announced earlier in July that a total of eight Yakuza games will be coming to PS Plus this year, including the likes of Yakuza 4 Remastered and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.

Apart from the JRPG classics, Extra and Deluxe subscribers will also get their hands on the popular 1v4 horror, Dead by Daylight, which will let you play out a cheesy slasher movie on your PlayStation with all the gore and screams one might expect from such a title.

Additionally, Extra and Deluxe users will also get access to Bugsnax, Metro Exodus, Trials of Mana, UNO, Monopoly Madness, and Monopoly Plus.

As mentioned, all the free games will be available starting August 16. PlayStation recently revamped its subscription plans by introducing three new tiers — PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra, and PlayStation Plus Deluxe.
