NYT Connections Answers Today (July 15): Gymnastics Gear, Forced Exit, Horror Hits & Horse Wordplay. Check Out Hints

Connections is a game of deduction and pattern-spotting. Players are presented with 16 words and tasked with sorting them into four groups of four, each linked by a common theme.

NYT Connections Answers: Another Tuesday, another tangled grid of possibilities in the New York Times’ daily word puzzle, Connections. Puzzle #765, released on July 15, had players digging deep and navigating brand names, feathered friends, music genres, and phonetic trickery; all in the race to crack the four mystery groups.

For those unfamiliar, Connections is a game of deduction and pattern-spotting. Players are presented with 16 words and tasked with sorting them into four groups of four, each linked by a common theme. Sounds simple? It rarely is. Some themes were obvious, others more obscure, but once you sort them, the puzzle falls into place. Wondering how you did? Here’s a breakdown, from the most obvious to the delightfully tricky.

Yellow: Gymnastics Apparatus

This was the fastest group to crack, featuring equipment seen in every gymnastics competition: BARS, BEAM, RINGS, and VAULT. The theme was practically spelled out once you recognised a sporting connection.

Green: Force To Leave

A step up in complexity, this group included words like BOOT, BOUNCE, EJECT, and REMOVE, all meaning to expel or push out something or someone. It was a clever twist on terms that imply an exit .

Blue: Horror Movies From 2022

This set shifted gears to film, featuring NOPE, PEARL, SCREAM, and SMILE, all titles of horror movies released in 2022. Once you caught on, each title fit neatly into the cinematic category .

Purple: Words That Follow “Horse-”

The final, trickiest group involved wordplay. The words FEATHERS, PLAY, POWER, and SHOE all form familiar terms when prefixed with “horse‑” (as in horse‑feathers, horse‑play, horse‑power, horseshoe). This was a clever linguistic puzzle to end the round.

Whether you flew through Yellow and Blue or paused at Purple’s playful twist, Connections #765 offered a satisfying mix of logic, trivia, and wordplay. It’s exactly the kind of puzzle that keeps fans coming back, each day a fresh chance to see patterns in the chaos.
