NYT Connections Answers (July 3): Today's Puzzle Pits Farmers, Flights, & Football In A Battle Of Wits

Whether you solved it in one try or found yourself foiled by clever wordplay, puzzle #752 offered yet another reminder why Connections has become a daily ritual for word game lovers.

NYT Connections Answers: The New York Times' hit daily puzzle Connections returned with another brain-bending challenge on Thursday, July 3. Puzzle #752 offered up its usual grid of 16 words, but unravelling the four hidden themes required a mix of intuition, knowledge, and a bit of luck.

For players aiming to keep their winning streak intact, today's puzzle wasn’t a walk in the park. With red herrings sprinkled throughout, the difference between a confident click and a game-ending fourth mistake was razor-thin. But for those who persevered, four satisfying categories emerged — each with its own thematic flavour.

Yellow Group: Communication Clues Lead the Way

The Yellow group — marked as the easiest in difficulty — was themed Correspondence. This set included the words Contact, Dealings, Exchange, and Interaction, all pointing towards the idea of communication or connection in both social and transactional contexts.

This category may have felt like a gimme to seasoned players, especially if they honed in on the word Interaction early on. The NYT hints supported this with a nudge to "look for communication."

Green Group: Up in the Air

Next came the Green category, tied together under Airport Board Info. The relevant terms — Arrival, Destination, Flight, and Gate — were all familiar to anyone who's ever squinted at a departure screen in a bustling terminal.

The clue “as seen at the airport” pointed directly here, though the puzzle creators cleverly placed similar words elsewhere to throw players off the scent.

Blue Group: Athletes in the Mix

The Blue group served up a sporty challenge under the title Pro Athlete Data. Words like College, Number, Position, and Team brought to mind scouting reports and player profiles, offering a nod to the world of professional sports.

One clue encouraged solvers to “think of pro athletes,” though it wasn't immediately obvious that these four were destined for the same team.

Purple Group: Down on the Farm

Finally, the trickiest group — the Purple category — was themed Farmers’ Things. It paired Almanac, Insurance, Market, and Tan, bringing a rustic twist to the day’s intellectual exercise.

As always, this hardest category required thinking beyond the literal, and “Think of a farmer” was the clue meant to guide players toward the right connection.

A Puzzle That Keeps You Guessing

With each of the four categories assigned a difficulty colour — Yellow (easiest) to Purple (hardest) — Connections continues to keep solvers on their toes. The NYT even warned players with a heads-up: no groups included words beginning with the same letter, and seemingly obvious pairings like Market and Exchange belonged to completely different groups.

For those who didn't crack it on their own, here's the full solution recap:

  • Yellow (Correspondence): Contact, Dealings, Exchange, Interaction
  • Green (Airport Board Info): Arrival, Destination, Flight, Gate
  • Blue (Pro Athlete Data): College, Number, Position, Team
  • Purple (Farmers’ Things): Almanac, Insurance, Market, Tan

Whether you solved it in one try or found yourself foiled by clever wordplay, puzzle #752 offered yet another reminder why Connections has become a daily ritual for word game lovers.
