Nintendo Switch 2 Might Be Launched On March 28, Here's What We Know
While official information about the Switch 2 remains limited, Nintendo confirmed last month that the new console will be compatible with existing Nintendo Switch games.
A new leak suggests that the highly anticipated successor to the Nintendo Switch will be released on March 28. The Italian publication UAGNA reports that this date will mark the beginning of the distribution of Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, with the console likely to launch on the same day.
This aligns with Nintendo's earlier statement that the new Switch will be unveiled before the end of the current fiscal year, which concludes on March 31, 2025.

Nintendo Switch 2: Release Date (Expected)
According to an anonymous source described as "reliable" by UAGNA, the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to hit the market on March 28. According to a report by the Gadgets 360, the UAGNA report stated, “According to our source, on that date the distribution of Switch 2 accessories made not only by Nintendo but also by third-party companies is expected, among which the steering wheels for JoyCon already leaked in recent days on the web will probably also find a place.”
It added, “We can therefore infer that March 28, 2025, will also be the release date of Switch 2, with Nintendo therefore following the publication and distribution table of the past generation.”
Nintendo Switch 2: What Do We Know?
While official information about the Switch 2 remains limited, Nintendo confirmed last month that the new console will be compatible with existing Nintendo Switch games. Additionally, the Nintendo Switch Online service, which offers access to online multiplayer, cloud saves, and a selection of classic games, will also be available on the Switch 2.
Recent weeks have brought some leaks about the Switch 2’s design and specs. One of the most intriguing leaks came from a Reddit user who claimed to have had hands-on experience with the device and later shared photos with The Verge. The user revealed that the Switch 2 would feature magnetic Joy-Con controllers, potentially solving the notorious stick drift problem.
The leak also mentioned that the new console would come with a more powerful dock, rated at 60W, while the hybrid console itself would have a 45W power rating. If accurate, these improvements would mark a significant upgrade from the original Nintendo Switch, which uses a 39W AC adapter to power the system at 18W.
