God of War will soon be available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers, as the action-adventure gem from Santa Monica Studio has been announced by Sony as part of the free games lineup for June. Each month, PS Plus subscribers get access to three free games from Sony’s in-house originals as well as third-party releases. In June, apart from the critically acclaimed God of War, subscribers will also get their hands on Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

PS Plus June free games: Date of availability

Sony announced on June 1 that the three free games will be available to download from June 7 to July 4. It should be noted that the free games for May — FIFA 22, Tribes of Midgard, and Curse of the Dead Gods — will be available for downloads until June 6.

As always, you need to have an active PS Plus subscription to access the free games. You can add a free game to your library during the availability period and download it later as per your needs, as long as your subscription remains active.

It should be noted that starting June 23, the standard plan will be retitled PS Plus Essential and it will continue to offer the same benefits it is currently offering now. There will be two additional plans in place — PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Deluxe. Starting at Rs 749 per month, PS Plus Extra will have all benefits of PS Plus Essential and will allow access to hundreds of PS4 and PS5 games. PS Plus Deluxe, starting at Rs 849 per month, will bring all benefits from the other plans, and additionally, offer access to classic games from previous generations in the Classics Catalogue.

God of War (PS4)

Released in 2018 by Santa Monica Studio, God of War is a reboot of the iconic action-adventure games from the 2000s. The latest God of War offers a radically different treatment to the series by introducing a touching father-son story that follows Kratos and his son Atreus as they journey to the highest peak of the nine realms to spread the ashes of Kratos’ wife, to fulfill her last wish. Packed with tight puzzles, tense setpieces, and satisfying fights, God of War delivered one of the most memorable single-player campaigns to date.

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker (PS4)

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is an online multiplayer that will let you participate in 4v4 team-based ninja fights. This will be of particular interest to diehard fans of ‘Naruto,’ as the game will let you play as memorable characters from the popular anime series.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl (PS4 and PS5)

Lastly, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is a platform fighter that will let you choose from nearly two dozen famous Nickelodeon characters, from SpongeBob SquarePants to CatDog. Released last year, this marks the console debut of the Nickelodeon Super Brawl series of browser- and mobile-based games.
