Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 2 Launched. Get Access To Greek Gods Now Including Zeus & Hades

Fortnite's new update brings a variety of mythological locations to the map, such as Mount Olympus and the underworld, guarded by the mythical Cerberus.

Fortnite is delving into ancient mythology with the launch of Chapter 5: Season 2, aptly named "Myths & Mortals." This season revolves around Greek mythology, allowing players to assume the roles of Greek gods, engage in battles across Mount Olympus, and harness the power of Zeus' thunderbolt. The introduction of this season was marked by an inventive in-game event centred around Pandora's box.

What To Expect From The Latest Update

The update brings a variety of mythological locations to the map, such as Mount Olympus and the underworld, guarded by the mythical Cerberus. Accompanying these new settings are several power-ups and collectable items, including the Wings of Icarus for flight, Zeus' bolts enabling players to "rise into the air and hurl lightning bolts at targets," and the Chains of Hades, a forthcoming weapon.

With a new season comes a fresh battle pass, offering players the opportunity to unlock numerous Greek gods, including Aphrodite, Medusa, and a charming Slurp Juice version of Poseidon. Later in the season, Korra, a character from the Avatar: The Last Airbender spinoff The Legend of Korra, will also be available for unlocking. The immersive theme of Greek mythology adds a captivating layer to Fortnite's ongoing narrative.

"Myths & Mortals" marks a significant transformation for Fortnite as it embarks on Chapter 5. While the battle royale mode remains a robust feature, this new chapter propels Fortnite beyond its traditional boundaries, evolving into a multifaceted platform that accommodates a variety of games. The launch of Chapter 5 introduced diverse gaming experiences, including Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival.

Epic Games, the developer behind Fortnite, has been actively engaged in numerous endeavours. In February, the gaming landscape witnessed a substantial development as Disney invested $1.5 billion in Epic Games. This strategic investment is part of a broader plan to construct an expansive and open games and entertainment universe.

In the realm of ongoing corporate dynamics, Epic Games has found itself in a legal dispute with Apple, particularly concerning alterations to the App Store. This legal tussle exemplifies the evolving landscape of digital platforms and the intricate relationships within the gaming industry. The convergence of Fortnite's Chapter 5 and these strategic manoeuvres reflects Epic Games' commitment to innovation and expansion within the gaming and entertainment realms.
