Fact: The claim is false. The video is manipulated using AI.

Hyderabad: A video circulating on social media allegedly shows businessman Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, promoting a gaming app by the Ambani Group that has the ‘potential to boost the income of middle-class Indians.’

In the video, he can be heard saying, “I know that supermarket cashiers earn around seven thousand rupees per month, drivers earn around twelve thousand rupees, and teachers earn around eighteen thousand rupees per month. I know how to fix this! There is a new app—Avi by Ambani.

With this app, a player’s average income can reach forty-one thousand rupees per week. Even a child can play because the game is very simple. You just launch a plane, and your money keeps increasing until you decide to stop.

If you have 300-400 rupees and can tap on a screen with your finger, simply download Avi by Ambani from the link below and receive a special bonus from me. This is my gift to all residents of India!”

The video has been shared on Facebook.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The video is manipulated using AI.

We noticed that Anant’s lip movements were out of sync with the audio and found several words were not clear, which indicated possible manipulation. Additionally, we searched for the gaming app Avi by Ambani but found no media reports about it.

A reverse image search of the video’s keyframes led us to a video published by ANI and The Print on February 26, 2024. The video showed Anant Ambani announcing Vantara — a comprehensive animal rescue, care, conservation and rehabilitation program, the first of its kind in India. The Vantara background in the ANI video matched the one seen in the viral clip.

He could be heard saying, “We started the wildlife rescue centre building at the peak of COVID...We’ve created a jungle of 600 acres. We created an entire habitat for the elephants and in 2008, we rescued our first elephant. The Greens Zoological Rescue Center started in 2020...We have a total of about 3,000 people working for Green’s Zoological Research and Rescue Center. Out of that, we have approximately 20-30 expats. All the expats are in the role of teachers or professors. We take young graduates who have just finished their veterinary graduation from different backgrounds, like nutritionists. We also have some human doctors who are extremely passionate about animals.”

After watching the complete video, we found no instance of Anant Ambani announcing any gaming app. Moreover, it is unlikely that he would introduce a gaming app during a press conference related to Vantara. This makes it quite evident that the video has been manipulated.

Furthermore, we analysed the video using the AI detection tool Hive Moderation, which determined that the audio is likely AI-generated with a confidence score of 99 per cent. The overall video was found to contain AI-generated or deepfake content with an aggregate score of 99.9 per cent.
