‘The Family Man 2’ Controversy: Manoj Bajpayee Issues Statement Over Web Series 'Showing Tamilians In Bad Light'
Soon after the makers dropped the trailer, the web series got embroiled in controversy as some of the leaders from Tamil Nadu accused that the Tamilians have been shown in a bad light in ‘The Family Man 2’.
Mumbai: Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘The Family Man 2’ is one of the most anticipated shows this year. The first season of the web series received lots of appreciation from both the audience and the critics. Set to release on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on June 4, the makers of ‘The Family Man 2’ released the trailer of the series a few days back.
However, soon after the makers dropped the trailer, the web series got embroiled in controversy as some of the leaders from Tamil Nadu accused that the Tamilians have been shown in a bad light in ‘The Family Man 2’.

Manoj Bajpayee, who portrays the role of the protagonist Srikant Tiwari, has now released a statement that read, “Some assumptions and impressions have been made based on just a couple of shots in the trailer. Many of our lead cast members and key members of the creative & writing team are Tamilians. We are very cognizant of the sentiments of the Tamil people and Tamil culture and have nothing but the utmost love and respect towards our Tamil people. We have put in years of hard work into this show. and we have taken great pains to bring to our audiences a sensitive, balanced. and riveting story - much like we did in Season I of the show. We request everyone to wait and watch the show when it releases. We know you'll appreciate it once you watch it.”
Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K, ‘The Family Man 2’ also features Samantha Akkineni in a lead role. The cast also includes Sharib Hashmi, Seema Biswas, Darshan Kumar, Sharad Kelkar, Sunny Hinduja, Shreya Dhanwantary, Shahab Ali, Vedant Sinha and Mahek Thakur in pivotal roles.
