The promo of Shiddat had set the tone for being a film that would work for those who are or have been hopelessly in love. However, when a film turns out to be even better than the promo then that turns out to be a full-on paisa vasool affair. This is what director Kunal Deshmukh does with this unique love story that has the kind of moments that are so realatable, and yet there is a definite filmy feel about it.

Premiering straight on Disney+Hotstar, this Sunny Kaushal and Radhika Madan starrer touches your heart, especially if you have been madly in love. For some, it may come across as impractical but then for those who truly believe in crossing all frontiers to find the love of their life, this Dinesh Vijan production with Mohit Raina in a key role as well (along with Diana Penty) works really well.

Meanwhile, there was masala in store as well this week with Anuja Sathe returning from the dead in Ek Thi Begum 2. The first season had worked well by turning out to be a surprise winner for MX Player. Now the OTT channel has upped the scale with the second season and also promoted it quite well, hence ensuring that it reaches out to its target audience, the gentry. Yet again, there is hardcore drama, blood, revenge and passion coming together in this ‘adults only’ affair which makes for a striking watch. Catch it if you are a lover of underworld and crime genre.

Meanwhile, the story that was waiting to be told, the one about the friendship and then ultimate break up of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, is now streaming at ZEE5 in the form of Breakpoint. A web series that gets into some finer details about what really happened behind the scenes when it came to the personal and professional relationship of the two ace tennis champions, this one is indeed one of its kind affair. For wife-husband director duo of Ashwini Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari, Breakpoint is nothing short of an experiment too as the 7 episode series belongs to the docudrama genre. A good watch for the lovers of sports based dramas.
