Vivek Agnihotri Reacts To Deepika Padukone Being One Of Oscar Presenters This Year; Calls It 'Ache Din'

The Academy announced a list of presenters for this year's awards and Deepika was named among Emily Blunt, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael B. Jordan, Dwayne Johnson, Riz Ahmed, and many others.

New Delhi: After Deepika Padukone was announced as one of the presenters at the Academy Awards 2023, there has been a lot of buzz in the industry around her. As celebs continue to share the excitement and cheer for Deepika, 'The Kashmir Files' filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri also reacted to the news. The Academy announced a list of presenters for this year's awards and Deepika was named among Emily Blunt, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael B. Jordan, Dwayne Johnson, Riz Ahmed, Troy Kotsu, Glenn Close, Jennifer Connelly, Melissa McCarthy, Zoe Saldana, Jonathan Majors, and Donnie Yen.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Vivek Agnihotri retweeted a publication's piece announcing Deepika as one of Oscar presenters and wrote, "While travelling with #TheKashmirFiles in USA & overwhelming response of Americans, I had said that now everyone wants to increase their footprint in India. India is now the most lucrative, safe and growing market of the world. This is the year of Indian cinema. #AchcheDin."

Earlier, Vivek had criticised Deepika Padukone on two occasions. He had first slammed her visit to Jawaharlal Nehru University's campus in Delhi when there was an untoward violent episode on the campus.

He had written in a series of tweets in 2020, "Got a call from an insider at @FoxStudiosIndia. I can’t believe they had no idea about #DeepikaWithTukdeTukdeGang. They are asking if the film loses money, who’ll be answerable? Coz #DeepikaPadukone has got her professional fees, Producer’s fee, and many endorsements. I am told that it was suggested to #DeepikaPadukone to go and stand next to #Nirbhaya’s parents for a photo op. But last-minute she changed her plan because #Nirbahaya wasn’t trending whereas #JNU was. This is how it works, my dear friends.”

Last year, Vivek had joined the controversy around Deepika's song 'Besharam Rang' from 'Pathaan'. He had posted a video of a user criticising the song and wrote, "WARNING... video against Bollywood. Don’t watch it if you are a 'secular'."

Meanwhile, India has three nominations this year- 'RRR', 'All That Breathes' and 'The Elephant Whisperers'.

Sharing the social media post by the official handle of the Academy on Thursday, Deepika wrote on , "#oscars#oscars95." Her actor-husband Ranveer Singh was quick to cheer her with clapping emojis.
