There Goes My Childhood: Potterheads Not Happy With The News Of Harry Potter TV Adaptation

A new web TV series based on the Harry Potter books is in the making.

New Delhi: A new web TV series based on the Harry Potter books is being considered, it was reported a few days ago by Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. To ensure that it is a true adaptation, the new show will include a whole new cast and a season for each of the books. The show has received support from author J.K. Rowling, who applauded the effort made to maintain the integrity of her works.

The official Twitter handle of HBO Max shared the clip with the caption, "Your Hogwarts letter is here. Max has ordered the first ever #HarryPotter scripted television series, a faithful adaptation of the iconic books. #StreamOnMax".

There will be an entirely new cast for the new series, which is being promoted as a complete break from the earlier film adaptations.
Now, the announcement has received a mixed response from fans of the novels and the previous films in the franchise, who have criticised it. The fans have also predicted that the new adaptation will be nothing more than a letdown.

Here is what fans had to say:

J.K. Rowling released the first book in the series in 1997. 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', the first movie in the Harry Potter series, was released in 2001. 2011 saw the release of the final 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2' movie.
