Not just Naamkarann, ‘TU SOORAJ MEIN SAANJH PIYAJI’ also to go OFF-AIR

New Delhi: Star Plus is all set to revamp itself by shutting shop of two popular shows. As we all know about that Mahesh Bhatt helmed show ‘Naamkarann’ is going off-air on 18th May, now the latest news is that ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’ too is going off-air. ‘Tu Sooraj’ was started with Star Plus’ ‘Dopehar’ concept. But soon other shows were pulled off from afternoon slot except this one. It got 7:30pm slot as it was vacated by hit show ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’. This decision turned out to be in favour of the show as it saw increase in TRPs. As per news in an entertainment portal, show will go off-air on 1st June. Show is a sequel of hit show ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ which had Anas Rashid and Deepika Singh in the lead roles as ‘Sandhya’ and ‘Sooraj’. Plot of ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’ is based on Sooraj and Sandhya’s daughter Kanak’s life.

But makers have some twist before show bids goodbye. TV actress Aanchal Khurana who was last seen in Zee TV’s show ‘Zindagi Ki Mehek’ is entering the show. Talking to India Forums, Aanchal said, “"I am a part of Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji now. I will be seen in a pivotal cameo in the show. I got a call for Tu Sooraj... on my last day of shoot of Zindagi Ki Mehek." On a related note, TV actress Rhea Sharma and Avinesh Rekhi play the lead roles in the show.
